Highly pathogenic avian influenza and AI were additionally confirmed in dead birds found in Cheorwon, Gangwon.
Gangwon-do announced that the’H5N8′ type highly pathogenic AI virus was detected in 33 bee goose and one eagle owl collected from Cheorwon-gun on the 26th to 28th of last month.
In addition, 28 animals were collected from Togyo Reservoir in Dongsong-eup, near the armistice line, and the rest were found in Jeongyeon-ri and Guntan-ri, nearby Galmal-eup.
Gangwon-do has issued a risk advisory for the spread of highly pathogenic AI of wild birds and is strengthening farm quarantine.
