Thousands of people have left this Saturday in the street to manifest against the suspension of TC of the Government decree that required to guarantee a social rent. Convened by the Platform for People Affected by Mortgages (PAH) and other entities in defense of housing, some 3,000 people – 1,300 according to the Guardia Urbana -, have concentrated on the Arc de Triomfo de Barcelona, before the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia.

Shortly after 11 in the morning, the demonstration began to walk past the Parliament of Catalonia and ending at the center of the Ciutadella park, in front of the Glorieta de la transsexual Sònia. Now a week ago, the Constitutional Court annulled the decree law of urgent measures to improve access to housing promoted in 2019 by the Government, which forced the big forks to offer social rent vulnerable people illegally occupying a home.

The request to the future Government of the Generalitat
With songs and banners in favor of right to housing, They have addressed all the parties that appear at the 14-F elections so that they work to end evictions and the housing emergency in Catalonia.

More specifically, the concentrates have claimed the future Catalan Government that the first thing to do is create the same rule laid down by the Constitutional Court in the format of law. The objective is to shield it before the courts, since the constitutional resolution considers that the rank of the decree “is insufficient.”
