Additional data suggests that both Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines are safe in the UK, where more than 10 million people have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
According to the BBC Broadcasting and Reuters news agency on the 5th local time, the UK Drug and Health Care Product Regulatory Authority analyzed the safety of 7 million people who had been vaccinated by the two companies by the 24th of last month. It was revealed that 2,820 people had reported suspected side effects.
Most of them were found to have only mild symptoms such as muscle pain and fever, inflammation at the injection site, headache, and fatigue.
The UK Medicines Regulatory Authority explained that this is presumed to be related to the body’s reaction to vaccination and not to disease, and that usually improves after a few days.
The Drug Administration has not yet seen any unexpected serious side effects, and stressed that there is strong evidence that the vaccine prevents severe symptoms related to COVID-19.
