Personal trainer Jenni Rivett hadn’t talked about Lady Diana, his much more famous client. But a few days ago he broke the silence and in an interview with Daily Mail unveiled not only exercises and fitness routines of the people’s princess, but also the special relationship he had established with the one he followed for six years, from 1991 until her death. “We had a really great bond. She liked the fact that I didn’t know the actual protocol at all. I had no idea you should bow to her, I only found out four years later when I saw her best friend curtsey at Kensington Gardens, ”she said.
“She laughed when I apologized and said: that’s why I love you Jenni. Please, never bow down ».
When he started working with Diana in the early 90’s, Rivett introduced it to the workout trendiest of the period: “She liked doing aerobics and step, extremely cool at the time. He also loved cardio fitness and taking long walks in Kensington Gardens. I also taught her to skate and she loved it but, in general, he was enthusiastic about all the exercises we did ». Rivett trained Lady Diana in the crucial years of her separation from Prince Charles, when, among other things, began to speak publicly about her battle with bulimia. “He bravely talked to me and the world about his food problem,” he said. “For his part, it was truly honorable, helping so many young women understand the impact of eating disorders.”
The personal trainer also said she encouraged Diana to eat healthily explaining how fitness has also helped her manage bulimia. “Exercising and training helps tremendously to keep anxiety and depression at bay»Concluded Jenni. “I think that when she felt fitter, stronger and healthier, she felt she was ready to face the difficult moments she went through with her head held high.”
