After a trip to Marmande (Lot-et-Garonne) on Friday to discuss with elected officials from communities affected by the floods, Jean Castex is going to Brittany this Saturday. First stop in the morning in Brest, where the Prime Minister will inaugurate the new Bougainville building, which houses the head office of Ifremer (French Research Institute for the Exploitation of the Sea), on the Technopole of Brest-Iroise, in Plouzané .
For this second visit to Brest, after a trip last November 20 to the Regional and University Hospital Center (CHRU), Jean Castex will focus on the fight against climate change and the importance of Ifremer’s scientific work to measure the impact on marine flora and fauna. He will not fail to mention the “Climate and Resilience” bill, presented next Wednesday in the Council of Ministers. The text will materialize 40% of the measures proposed by the Citizen’s Climate Convention.
In Châteaubourg in the afternoon
The Prime Minister will not leave Brittany immediately: he will go in the early afternoon to Châteaubourg (35), near Rennes. He will meet with the managers and employees of the agricultural machinery company Sulky, which recruited extensively last year. A sequence that will focus on the theme of youth employment and the results of the “1 young person, 1 solution” plan. A meeting with the PS mayor of Rennes, Nathalie Appéré, is also scheduled to follow, without being confirmed for the moment.
