The Polish national team ignited the Group A competitions by sweeping its Uruguayan counterpart from 16-30 in the main round of the World Handball Championship in Egypt until the end of this January.
And at the gymnasium in the new administrative capital, the Polish team imposed its superiority in the first half, ending it in its favor, ahead 9-14.
After the Uruguayans’ shy attempts to return to the score at the start of the second half, Poland regained the reins and extended absolute control that resulted in a great expansion of the difference and ended the meeting 30-16.
Polish Simon Seko won the best player award in the match after scoring five goals.
Poland raised its score to 4 points, to be equal to Hungary, the leader in goal difference, which later plays with Brazil, while Spain faces Germany from the same group.
Uruguay remained sixth and last without points.
In Group Two, Argentina won an important victory over Japan, 28-24.
The first half ended in favor of Argentina amid a great club from both teams, but the tango team succeeded in improving it by 4 goals (17-13).
The Argentine awakening continued in the second half, and they continued to dominate the match, leaving the “samurai” players blown by the winds of unsuccessful attempts to return to the match.
Argentine Federico Pizzaro was chosen the best player in the match for his brilliance and scoring 10 goals.
The balance of the Argentine national team rose to 4 points due to its qualification from the first round with two points, while the balance of the Japanese national team was frozen at one point, which it rose from the first round as well.
Competition appears to be raging in this group, which includes Croatia, Qatar, Denmark and Bahrain.
The qualified teams moved to the main role with the points they got from the rising teams from the same group to face the other group teams.
The champion and runner-up of the four groups from the main round qualifies to the quarter-finals.
