It could pass for a “classic” case of domestic violence, one more, which unfortunately comes to be added to an already too extensive list. With one detail … It was by an email sent by a person, who remained anonymous, that the Hagondange police station learned, at the end of 2020, of domestic violence that a 47-year-old Amnevilloise suffered.
The email in question contains a screenshot where we partially see a Facebook page and several photos showing a woman with skin rashes and bruises on her face and upper body. Investigators from the Urban Security Brigade (BSU) immediately opened an investigation.

Identified by photos
Without much difficulty, they identify the victim and come into contact with her… since her name appears in the captions of the photos. They go to her home and find a weakened woman, who explains that she did not have the strength to initiate herself with the police. She relied on a neighbor to whom she sent the photos, a neighbor who would have taken the initiative to publish them on social networks. The forty-something tells the police that her companion has left the home for a few days. She accepts, without reservation, to be taken immediately to the police station to file a complaint.

The victim withdraws his complaint
The victim evokes several episodes of violence, including that of December which was reported through photos on the social network.
The respondent, a 38-year-old man already known to the courts, was taken into custody on Tuesday February 2 to be heard on the facts. And this, while the victim withdrew his complaint. Referred the next day to the Metz prosecutor’s office, he was tried, the same day, in immediate appearance. He was sentenced to 5 months in prison to which is added the revocation of a previous sentence, pronounced in 2020 by the TGI of Thionville, up to 4 months.
