Until Saturday to come and give blood in Montauban

This week, the French Blood Establishment (EFS) is proposing to mix the useful with the pleasant. Until Saturday noon, it is possible to donate blood on the site, before benefiting from one (or more) pancake (s), candeleur oblige. “With the masks and distancing, conviviality is less present on blood drives. We therefore wanted to make pancakes to make the donation a little nicer for everyone”, says Manon Valentin, in charge of promoting the donation at the EFS.

On Tuesday, 420 people had already registered to participate in the collection. “Fortunately, donors are there, but not in large enough numbers”, declares Manon Valentin. The young woman explains that, if the blood stocks are correct today, the health situation is causing cancellations of collections in schools or businesses. The EFS therefore opted for a large-scale collection, spread over six days.

Nicole Paterson, about to enjoy a pancake, has been a nurse in Montauban for 2 years. It has happened to him to lack blood for a patient; so giving his is important to him. It wants to be reassuring for those who would be afraid to pass the milestone of the first donation: “We are well accompanied! And if we are afraid of blood, we do not have to watch because they do what is necessary to hide our arm . ” Not far from her sits Gabriel Blasco Soler. This physiotherapist of Spanish origin is on his tenth donation: “I would like to be helped if I was in difficulty, so I try to help when I can. We are all concerned!”
