As the spread of the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) in Korea has not seldom stopped, the number of new confirmed cases on the 4th was in the mid-400 range.
It was a little less than the previous day, but continued to reach 400 for two consecutive days.
The Lunar New Year holiday (2.11~), which has come a week ahead, showing signs of reviving the spread of Corona 19, which had been curtailed through high-intensity quarantine measures, such as’social distancing’ (Section 2.5 in the metropolitan area, Stage 2 in the non-metropolitan area) and prohibition of meetings with more than 5 people. Moreover, the burden on the quarantine authorities is increasing as the first case of an overseas mutant virus, which is known to have a stronger spread than the existing virus, has led to a group infection in the community.

◇ 400 people on the second day of local outbreak… Out of 429, 337 in the metropolitan area-92 in the non-metropolitan area
The Central Defense Countermeasure Headquarters announced that as of 0 o’clock on the day, the number of new corona19 confirmed cases in Korea increased by 451, accumulating 79,000.
It was 16 people less than the previous day (467 people).
The’third pandemic’, which started in earnest since mid-November last year, showed a modest sedation this year, but recently, the number of new confirmed cases has increased again, showing an uneasy pattern.
During the last week (1.29-2.4), the number of new confirmed cases per day was 469 → 456 → 355 → 305 → 336 → 467 → 451. During this period, there were three for 300 and four for 400.
Looking at the infection route of the new confirmed patients on this day, 429 local outbreaks and 22 foreign inflows.
The number of confirmed cases of local outbreaks estimated to have been infected in the community also recorded around 400 for two consecutive days.
In the area where confirmed cases were found, 337 were in the metropolitan area, including 166 in Seoul, 128 in Gyeonggi, and 43 in Incheon.
In the non-capital area, there were 26 in Busan, 13 in Chungnam, 12 in Gwangju, 8 in Gangwon, 7 in each of Daegu and Gyeongnam, 6 in Gyeongbuk, 4 in Chungbuk, 2 in Daejeon, Ulsan, Jeonnam, and Jeju, and 1 in Jeonbuk. There are a total of 92 confirmed cases in the non-metropolitan area.
In the case of major infections, large and small infections followed in restaurants, university hospitals, and workplaces.
Regarding a restaurant in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, about 40 people, including visitors, workers, family members, and acquaintances, were positive after the first confirmed case occurred on the 29th of last month, and an epidemiological investigation is currently underway.
Also, at Hanyang University Hospital in Seoul, a total of 58 patients, including patients, caregivers, and family members, were confirmed by 0:00 the previous day.
In addition, there were new cases of outbreaks nationwide, such as manufacturing in Gwangju, Gyeonggi, family in Anyang, distribution companies in Dangjin, Chungnam, and livestock products in Eumseong-gun, Chungbuk.

◇ 9 patients with severe gastric disorders decreased, a total of 211… 16 cities and provinces nationwide confirmed
There were 22 confirmed cases of foreign inflow, 12 fewer than the previous day (34).
Of these, six were confirmed during quarantine at the airport or port. The remaining 16 were tested positive while self-isolation at residential or temporary living facilities in Seoul, Gyeonggi (6 each), Daegu, Incheon, Gyeongnam, and Jeju (1 each).
The United States accounted for half with 11 people, followed by 3 people in the UAE, 2 people each in Kazakhstan and Hungary, and 1 person each in Russia, England, Colombia, and Ghana. Among the confirmed cases, 10 are Koreans and 12 are foreigners.
When local outbreaks and foreign inflows (excluding quarantine) are combined, there are 350 people in the metropolitan area, including 172 in Seoul, 134 in Gyeonggi, and 44 in Incheon. Nationally, there were new confirmed cases in 16 provinces excluding Sejong.
Meanwhile, the number of deaths increased by 7 from the previous day to 1,448 cumulative. The average fatality rate in Korea is 1.82%.
The number of patients with severe gastric disorders was 211, down by 9 from the previous day.
By this day, the number of confirmed cases lifted from quarantine increased by 405, to a cumulative 69,000,704. Currently, the number of patients undergoing quarantine treatment increased by 39 to 8,610.
To date, the number of corona19 diagnostic tests conducted in Korea is 5.8 million, 395 cases, of which 5.62,795 cases were negative, and the remaining 12,538 cases are waiting for the results.
The number of tests performed after reporting suspected patients the day before was 46,381, 1,80 more than 45,000,301 the previous day.

The positive rate, calculated as compared to the number of tests the previous day, was 0.97% (451 out of 46,381), which was slightly lower than the previous day’s 1.03% (467 out of 45,000,301). As of 0 o’clock on this day, the cumulative positive rate is 1.37% (79,762 out of 580,395).
