Perhaps a personal opinion, but I am tired of Battlefield myself, a reskin of the same thing every year. And then the pressure from the developers to make a political position, as the CEO of Electronic Arts said ‘My daughter asked me why women did not fight in WW2 … And I asked myself this question .. Why did they not fight in WW2? …. ‘
Result: Women at the forefront of all ethnicities, with samurai swords, robotic arms and legs and fights that sound like a mass rape is going on (no offense …)
Gamers get angry with the result saying this is not WW2, and the Electronic Arts CEO then responds saying ‘People who bought our game, our audience are dumb and undereducated’.
Now I have not played the previous number of series, but I still hope for some innovation, something different, and not ‘more of the same’.
Edit: Obviously a subjective opinion, but with hard facts, is moderated hard. Despite the fact that a CEO makes insulting statements, and the review scores do not lie in 2018, people apparently find Battlefield very innovative year after year. What’s next? Cyberpunk 2077 best game of all times?
Isn’t it strange to see something new after 10 years? Deeper gameplay? Consequences for choices you make? Other outcomes? Just to name a few things.
