Al Hoceima – The Provincial Health Delegate in Al Hoceima, Mohamed El Yeznasni, reviews, in an interview with the MAP, the news relating to the epidemiological situation in the province of Al Hoceima, the progress of the vaccination operation against Covid-19, as well as the means mobilized to make this operation a success.
1- What are the novelties relating to the epidemiological situation in the province of Al Hoceima?
In the province of Al Hoceima, 34 positive cases for Covid-19 are currently undergoing the necessary treatment in the nearby hospital of Imzouren, of which 8 are in intensive care.
In addition, 110 other confirmed cases are undergoing treatment in their homes, while a total of 31,422 Covid-19 screening tests have been carried out at the provincial level since the start of the pandemic.
2- How is the vaccination operation against Covid-19 going in Al Hoceima and what are the means mobilized to ensure its success?
Everyone is ready and all the necessary logistical means have been put in place at national and local levels. The vaccination operation, launched Thursday by HM King Mohammed VI, will take place gradually and target all Moroccan citizens and foreigners residing in Morocco whose age varies between 17 years to over 75 years.
Since the start of the vaccination campaign, the number of beneficiaries of the vaccination operation in Al Hoceima province has reached around 804, and strict measures have been taken to make this national campaign a success.
In addition, the operation is taking place under normal conditions. Each beneficiary is received by medical and nursing staff who record them on electronic tablets to ensure that they can receive the vaccine. The beneficiary thus receives his first dose, remains about 15 minutes under medical supervision, before being able to leave the premises with an appointment for the second obligatory dose for vaccination.
3- What advice do you give to the inhabitants of the province of Al Hoceima to protect themselves against Covid-19?
Citizens must remember that the virus is still spreading and that it is therefore mandatory to respect the preventive measures put in place, in particular respect for social distancing and the safety distance, wearing a mask and disinfection hands constantly.
