Since February 1, Groupama has offered 100% digital travel insurance including two formulas. Customizable and temporary, they offer complete protection, including in the event of a Covid-19 pandemic, while avoiding duplication with the guarantees included in bank cards, or by supplementing them.
If going on a trip remains a topical project for the French, uncertainties related to the health context are pushing them to take more precautions, and in particular to pay more attention to their insurance guarantees. To adapt to this unprecedented context and allow its members to leave with confidence, Groupama has decided to launch its temporary travel insurance plan.
Complete the guarantees of Premium, Premier or Gold cards
Most Premium bank cards offer essential travel guarantees. But, in the event of a problem, this coverage may prove to be insufficient, and the costs incurred exceed the limits provided for. This is why Groupama relied on its partner Mutuaide (assistance subsidiary of the Groupama Group) to design its offer.
These formulas, available only on the website (https://voyage.groupama.fr), take into account the guarantees of Premium, Premier or Gold bank cards to avoid duplication and offer optimal coverage. Two options are therefore offered:
- Credit card relay (Zen formula): insurance takes over from guarantees at the end of the cover period, i.e. from the 91st day of travel.
- The bank card supplement (Comfort package): in addition to the relay on the 91st day, this option is added to the guarantees of the bank card. For example, if the coverage limits are reached during hospitalization, Groupama intervenes to cover the remaining expenses (up to the contract).
Guarantees in the event of a pandemic
Included in both formulas, they allow Groupama policyholders to be covered in the event of illness linked to an epidemic or a pandemic of the Covid-19 type, before, during and after their trip (note that the guarantees may change between the plans Zen and Comfort.)
- Before departure: teleconsultation by telephone in the event of symptoms, reimbursement of the trip in the event of cancellation after a positive test.
- Pendant: reimbursement of medical expenses, repatriation, payment of accommodation costs and an emergency suitcase in the event of an impossible return or quarantine, local telephone plan.
- After: 6 psychological support interviews following quarantine or repatriation, payment of 15 hours of household help and delivery of groceries.
