The night of February 2 to 3 was rough in Fismes (Marne), like the day before. Four cars were set on fire this time and a house caught fire. No injuries but families to relocate. An investigation is underway.

A Fismes in the Marne, a quiet little town of 5,600 inhabitants, we were not used to this kind of series of fires. But in recent days, residents have been wondering. The firefighters were informed of a new fire around 3:45 am this Wednesday, February 3, the mayor around 4:30 am.
The balance sheet shows four cars burned and two homes were set on fire, one of which was heavily. Families will therefore be relocated. “We evacuated everyone, specifies Damien Landini, Director General of Services at Fismes. The house caught fire while it was empty, one or two firefighters were slightly injured by the flames. The area was evacuated, around thirty people are sheltered in the Fismes sports hall. Families not affected must return after the green light from GRDF (gas) services. And then two families will be relocated “.

Two precedents
A resident posted this Wednesday, February 3, a video of vehicles on fire. “It was that night. Two nights in a row that an asshole has fun setting cars on fire “!” In these images, we can see two cars on fire and smoke, followed by a brief explosion. Residents came out of their homes, awakened by the fire.
Car fires had already taken place the day before, three cars in another sector of the town. Also last week a car burned down. An investigation is underway. “For us, no rational explanations. They are thought to be isolated acts. We’re not used to that, we’ve never known this kind of series“, concluded the director general of services.
