The insurance of medical supervision
Through their use of powerful and sophisticated technologies, drugs or highly concentrated active ingredients – guarantees of satisfactory results – medico-aesthetic care involves risks that should not be taken lightly, hence the importance of ‘medical supervision. “Cosmetic medicine treatments should not be entrusted to just anyone,” confirms Julie Bédard, President and Chief Operating Officer for Medicart Corporation. “In order to promote the safety of our customers, all treatment protocols offered at Epiderma are supervised by medical management provided by Dr. Alexis Du Cap, and all Epiderma treatments meet Health Canada standards”, adds -it.
Technology at the service of beauty
Quickly after the branches reopened last spring, the network launched the Medicart virtual clinic so that customers from the 30 Epiderma clinics can get an assessment appointment without having to travel. “In the comfort of their home and with the greatest respect for the protection of personal information, the client can receive professional advice and all the useful information relating to the treatment,” explains Julie Bédard. It is a powerful technological tool; a first in the medico-aesthetic field. “
High-level supervision
Concerned about the safety and well-being of its customers as well as of its employees, Epiderma has implemented rigorous health standards that go beyond the recommendations issued by the Committee on Standards, Equity, Health and work safety (CNESST), as soon as its 30 clinics reopened last June. “None of our clinics have had an outbreak since the pandemic,” says the President and Chief Operating Officer.
The aesthetic medicine network shows the same concern for professionalism in terms of continuing education. In fact, all Epiderma employees – medico-aesthetic technicians and nurses, but also doctors and members of the management – follow an exclusive and compulsory program of specialized training.
Cutting-edge equipment
Since 2019, Epiderma has been investing in an ambitious project to renew its equipment. The Quebec company now offers VelaShape III technology, a device that combines infrared light, radiofrequency as well as light suction and mechanical massage that improves drainage and smoothness of the skin, while causing little or no discomfort. This non-invasive treatment for the treatment of cellulite and the reshaping of the silhouette is consensus: 97% of people treated say they are satisfied.
The Epiderma network has also equipped its 30 clinics with the brand new Elos Plus, a laser hair removal device that combines two different technologies: diode laser with a wavelength of 810 nanometers (nm) and radiofrequency. Thanks to the Elos Plus, it is possible to increase the radio frequency and reduce the laser energy induced in order to make the treatment more comfortable.
“The device is different from what is generally found in aesthetic clinics,” says Julie Bédard. It offers effective, safe, fast treatment that presents less discomfort. It’s the best of both worlds when it comes to laser hair removal. ”
In order to make an informed choice when it comes to medico-aesthetic treatments, it is essential to be well informed and compare similar technologies with regard to the results, the number of treatments required and the cost per treatment.
