train traffic disrupted this Tuesday morning

And two. After a first switch failure in the middle of the afternoon on Monday, a second failure was detected on Tuesday morning on the Luxembourg network.

At peak hours, the rail network was therefore severely affected between France and Luxembourg. Many trains were terminated at Thionville, and some were even canceled.

According to the SNCF, two out of three trains ran on Tuesday morning, but the disruption lasted until late morning, before a return to normal after 10:30 am.

French cross-border workers were not the only ones concerned, however: this failure affected the entire Luxembourg network.

According to our colleagues from France Bleu Lorraine, a cable was torn off on a construction site in Luxembourg-city, explaining these disturbances.
