The Lugo City Council will award books to the winners of the contest that has been convened by the Concellería de Cultura, Turismo e Promoción da Lingua to keep the Entroido celebration alive with a “telematic costume contest”, which will replace the traditional parades that filled the streets of the city with color.
The mayor of Culture, Maite Ferreiro, specified that “the Entroideando 2021 costume contest is not competitive,” so all participants will have a draw for “64 vouchers of 60 euros to buy in local bookstores.”
It only seeks “to promote the playful character of Entroido, both with homemade costumes and with other more elaborate ones,” to “maintain the tradition and spirit” of this popular festival, said the councilor.
“We seek to encourage participation,” he added, so that “all the people who participate will have the same chances of winning any of the prizes.”
In fact, to participate in ‘Entroideando 2021’, it is only necessary to upload a photo or video to social networks, with the costume of this year or previous editions, and tag the publication with the hashtag #entroideando.
Of course, in the description of the publication, participants must indicate the year in which the photograph was taken and, if this course has been taken, respect “current health regulations, derived from the health crisis.”
Each person can upload the photos they deem appropriate, but they will only be able to enter the prize distribution with a maximum of 3. In addition, for the draw, only the publications made between February 5 and 17 will be counted.
