According to the Volcanological Observatory of Piton de la Fournaise, the first analyzes made it possible to locate the earthquake 7 km southwest of Sainte-Clotilde and 10 km deep.
An isolated and tectonic event which is however not rare. This type of event is indeed recorded several times a year, specify the scientists.
