The investigation department of the Okhinsk OMVD of Russia completed the investigation of a criminal case against a 45-year-old former employee of one of the local oil companies. The citizen is charged with attempted theft of gas condensate.

It was found that the person involved, due to his job duties directly related to the technological process of oil and gas production, reliably knew about the processes of formation, collection, storage and release of gas condensate.

In order to steal gasoline from the pipeline, the attacker rented a transport with a tanker truck. On a day off, he arrived at the underground temporary storage tank of gas condensate, which is an integral part of the gas pipeline. Using a previously prepared hose, the defendant poured 6.171 tons of gasoline into the tank, after which he disappeared from the scene of the crime. The cost of the stolen was 125,990 rubles.

The accused did not succeed in bringing the criminal intent to an end, since at the checkpoint he was detained by police officers and the enterprise security service.

Thus, by his deliberate actions, the accused committed a crime under Part 3 of Article 30, paragraph “b” of Part 3 of Article 158 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – attempted theft, that is, secret theft of someone else’s property committed from a gas pipeline. The sanctions of the article provide for up to 6 years in prison, IA Sakh.com reports with reference to the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs.
