Police officers in the capital can now train with their service weapons in a new facility in Berlin-Biesdorf. The 9.5 million euro building is a further milestone for the modern education and training of civil servants, said Interior Senator Andreas Geisel (SPD) on Monday for the handover. After the facility in Ruhleben, this is now the second new training facility for police officers.
According to the announcement, the new building on Cecilienstraße has a shooting range with six lanes, each 25 meters long, as well as a control room and classroom. The Interior Senator emphasized that a professionally working police force needed professional framework conditions. The Gallwitzallee training center with an equally state-of-the-art shooting range is also due to open this year. According to earlier information from the internal administration, almost 29 million euros will be invested there.
