A Tottenham fan has boldly suggested that Spurs should fire Jose Mourinho and bizarrely replace him with ex-Chelsea boss Frank Lampard.
Spurs fans have turned on Mourinho – and Gareth Bale – after the London club suffered a 1-0 loss to Brighton at Amex on Sunday.
And Tottenham find themselves six points out of the Premier League’s top four in pursuit of Champions League football next season.
Speaking in Darren Bent’s Boot Room, Spurs fan Dan says Mourinho is “so stuck in the past” and it is time for Tottenham to cut ties with the “Special One”.
Dan told talkSPORT: “Looking at Spurs compared to last season, there’s no difference.
“You don’t have a Harry Kane. It’s a big part of the team and you have players with whom Mourinho loses his mind like Serge Aurier. He didn’t even play, where was he?
“Dele Alli – he’s like a £ 70million player… you can’t just get rid of him.
“Mourinho is so stuck in the past. He plays three at the back against Brighton! “
Lampard, named Chelsea manager in 2019, was sacked last month and replaced by former Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel.
When Dan was asked who he wanted to see as Mourinho’s replacement at Spurs, he said he “wouldn’t mind” seeing the 42-year-old Chelsea legend appointed in his place.
“Do you know what? Down to the minute there isn’t too many you can catch, I wouldn’t mind Lampard, ”said the Tottenham fan.
Mourinho was sacked from Manchester United in 2018 and then succeeded Mauricio Pochettino as Spurs manager in 2019.
However, the 58-year-old Portuguese head coach only managed to lead Tottenham to sixth place in the Premier League last season.
Tottenham will now host London rivals Chelsea on Thursday before facing West Brom on Sunday.
