Leipzig handball players screw up Bundesliga dress rehearsal

Leipzig (dpa) – Before the start of the year in the Bundesliga, the handball players of the SC DHfK Leipzig are still looking for their best form. In the last test match on Sunday, coach André Haber’s team did not get past a 32:32 (18:15) against second division club HC Elbflorenz Dresden. The best throwers in Leipzig were Luca Witzke, Gregor Remke and Lucas Krzikalla with four hits each. The hosts determined the game for a long time and were in the lead with up to six goals. In the final quarter of an hour, however, they acted too casually and conceded the equalizer with the final siren.

Two days earlier, the Haber protégés had another 26:23 (14:13) success against the second division EHV Aue, in which Patrick Wiesmach stood out with eight goals for the winner. Next Sunday (1.30 p.m. / Sky) the people from Leipzig will be playing in the Bundesliga with the German champions THW Kiel.
