The accident took place this Sunday morning in the town of Châtillon-d’Azergues.
At around 9:30 am, a car was involved in an accident on the road from Pont-de-Dorieux to Châtillon-d’Azergues, north of Lyon.
In total, 25 firefighters responded. A team of doctors also arrived on site using a civil security helicopter.
The 48-year-old victim had to be extricated from his vehicle, before being transferred to the Édouard-Herriot hospital in Lyon in absolute urgency.
