Destiny 2 introduces Seasonal Challenges, Crimson Days event will not return

Bungie is currently preparing the 13th season of Destiny 2, which should start in early February. Fortunately, we don’t have to wait long for the first images, because the developer has in one new blog post indicated that a trailer for the upcoming season will be shared on February 2. In the same message, Bungie also revealed a new feature: Seasonal Challenges.

Seasonal Challenges will replace the weekly bounties and in the blog post Bungie already gave an explanation of how this new system works. In the first ten weeks of each season, new challenges will become available every week. You can complete the challenges throughout the season, not necessarily in the week in which they appear. No new challenges will appear after the tenth week, so you still have time to complete any open challenges before the season ends. You can complete the Seasonal Challenges once per account.

You can find all Seasonal Challenges on their own page that you can find via the Quest Log or the Season Pass. By completing the Seasonal Challenges you will receive XP, which will help you progress with your Season Pass ranks. Other rewards for the challenges include Bright Dust, Seasonal currency and “other interesting items”.

In the blog post, Bungie also announced that the Crimson Days event will no longer return. In recent years, this in-game event was organized to celebrate Valentine’s Day, but that will not be the case this year. Bungie explains that Crimson Days was well received, but that the quality was not good enough in recent years and that it has therefore been decided to stop the event.
