The renewed SEAT Arona 2021 appears again in spy photos

We have been talking about the renewed SEAT Arona 2021 for months now and in September we saw some spy photos of the Martorell crossover. Now, however, test prototypes of the SEAT model have reappeared, although in this case, in a winter context.

The presentation of the restyling of the SEAT Arona is expected for the second half of this 2021, although at the moment there is no official date announced. The camouflaged prototypes, moreover, still do not reveal too many details of the model.

At the moment, what we can see is a lower grille with an interesting pattern, bumpers also redesigned (despite the camouflage) and a rear that has slightly different trapezoidal tailpipes, which may indicate a new engine.

In any case, the most logical thing is that the crossover follows the design path set by the latest models of the house, released by the SEAT Tarraco, which has been followed by others such as the SEAT León 2020.

Even so, in the case of a mid-life cycle update of the model, it is possible that there will be no changes in the mechanical offer, although there are rumors about a possible micro-hybrid or mild-hybrid engine.

In principle, it should keep the three-cylinder 1.0 TSI with 95 and 110 hp, the 1.0 TGI with 90 hp (from CNG) and the 1.6 TDI with 95 hp. Hopefully, the interesting 1.5 TSI 150 hp variant will continue to be offered, associated as standard with the seven-speed dual-clutch DSG automatic gearbox.

As for the cabin, no major changes are expected, since the Martorell brand has already added, for example, the digital instrument panel, although some rumors assure that the Arona will make a leap in terms of the quality of materials and finishes.

This update of the urban SUV of the Spanish brand is necessary to continue competing against rivals such as the Renault Captur, the Peugeot 2008, the Nissan Juke, the Kia Stonic or its ‘cousins’, the Skoda Kamiq and the Volkswagen T-Cross, for example.
