The multidisciplinary health center opened its doors in early January and accommodates 11 health professionals. Municipal officials anticipated the risk of medical desertification on their territory. It was necessary to offer better working conditions to the practitioners already present in the municipality and to convince others to settle there. In addition, grouping together, which is convenient for users, would facilitate teamwork. Following numerous meetings with the ARS, the health project was extended to the canton thus including the Cadalénois. With two nursing homes and two pharmacies, the territory became a priority and the project was validated.
Two years passed between the decision making and the opening. A record made possible by the involvement of professionals from Lagrave and Cadalen, elected officials and the support of the State. First digging in May 2020, 7 months to build the 700 m2. The ModulM company took up the challenge. “Factory-built modules are assembled on site. The company, a single point of contact, works with sourced organic materials and subcontracts the finishing work to local companies. The cost price has been contained at 1,800 euros per m2 all inclusive. “specifies Max Moulis, the mayor of Lagrave.
Each health professional is linked to the municipality by a rental lease including the private part and a contribution for the common areas (meeting room, toilets, etc.). In addition, the caregivers are united within an association chaired by Dr Joelle Favarel in order to manage the territorial health project. Networked in this way, sharing computer data, the team provides continuous care throughout the territory. “A very good state of mind, friendliness and more efficiency” such are the first results according to Max Moulis.
