The authorities of the Los Angeles County raised the order to keep the restaurants closed and since Friday they were able to operate in patios and outdoor areas, but seeking to avoid possible concentrations of people in establishments the county has issued a new restriction that is unprecedented.

With the Super Bowl in mind, the county said television screens in the restaurants, breweries and wine houses they must be turned off or removed.

In addition to the already known measures of limited capacity and prevention measures such as the limit of six people from the same household per table and the separation of 8 feet or more between tables, the new restriction indicates: “Televisions and other screens that broadcast programming must remain off”.

“We know that Super Bowl Sunday is coming (February 7) and we cannot repeat the mistakes of the past,” said Barbara Ferrer, the county’s public health director, referring to the fan meetings that occurred last year when the Dodgers and Lakers contested the championships of their respective sports. “It will be tragic if the Super Bowl becomes a super coronavirus transmission event.”

Next Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will play Super Bowl LV in the city of Tampa.
