A New York realtor shocked social media users after he featured a tiny apartment that costs $ 1,650 a month to rent.
Not only does the West Village studio lack a stove or oven, a small refrigerator, and a small closet, it doesn’t even have its own bathroom.
Instead, for $ 1,650 per month, residents must share a toilet and shower – which are also in separate rooms – with the entire resort.
And tenants should be sure not to lose their keys, as they need to get into both the bathroom and the shower.
The astronomical price of the Manhattan apartment – located on 5th Avenue and 11th Street near New York University – isn’t even as high as it might have been before the pandemic, with prices continuing to drop while wealthy New Yorkers remain in exodus. .

The video was shared by the new TikTok New York City Realtor (@newyorkcityrealtor) account – managed by Cameron Knowlton and Tatum Kelly – who have already racked up 2.4 million likes across six videos in less than a week.
After the first videos showed larger residences for more than $ 10,000 a month, Knowlton went on to show the worst place he has ever come across, pointing out that as a real estate agent he doesn’t set the rent.
“I posted the worst apartment ever to a Facebook group a few years ago,” he told DailyMail.com.
“I was just starting out in real estate and I was having a hard time getting by. It was my first job as a real estate agent (a big part of our job) and the internet tore me apart. I have received death threats.
“People were calling me all day to insult me and whatnot. They said I was the worst broker ever, ”Knowlton added.
He decided to try again this year with his new TikTok account, eager to show off what New York real estate sinks can really mean, and do it on his own terms.
Knowlton says he’s not affiliated with the building but saw it as an open list, which anyone with a real estate license can show to potential tenants if they wish.
“People ask me what’s the worst apartment you’ve ever seen, I’ll show you,” Knowlton says in TikTok footage before moving on to the one-room house.
“And before you ask, yes, it’s a real apartment. That’s what $ 1,650 gets you in New York’s most desirable neighborhood.
“Zero oven, mini fridge, no stove and only one single closet.
In total, he manages to show the whole apartment in a few seconds.
In a second video, he reveals the bathroom situation which he says is “as bad as you can imagine”.
“Imagine it’s you in your dining room and you have to go, follow me,” he said, while standing in the apartment.
He adds in the legend that in addition to your dining room, it is the “living room, kitchen, bedroom and closet”.

The real estate agent joked that even the soaps in the shower room had to share
–
“This is the first part of the bathroom and you’re going to need your key because it’s for security reasons,” the real estate agent says, standing in the hallway.
“Now here is the washroom, shared by the whole complex. You can see that it is actually quite clean and there is no sink by the way.
“And if you want to take a shower, you’re going to have to cross the other part of the hall,” he adds.
“Now remember your key and here’s the shower. Not too bad, not too shabby, and here are some shared soaps if you want some.
Knowlton adds that this shower is “equally shared by the whole resort” in the captions.
Others watching on TikTok were appalled at a tenant’s low income, saying in the comments below “this must be a joke”.
