Struck by the health crisis linked to the epidemic of Covid-19, like all hospitals, theSimone-Veil hospital is also splashed with a case of sexual harassment.
A department head is thus accused by five nurses following acts committed within the hospital grounds. An investigation was opened and entrusted to the police Ermont police station.
” One must enjoy life “
The case began on April 7, 2020, following a complaint from a caregiver. The latter evokes a scene that took place in the practitioner’s office. According to his statements to the police, reported by The Parisian, the latter launched to the young woman: “You know, you have to enjoy life, it’s important”. He then offers her a chocolate and a glass, prompting her to remove her mask. The nurse refuses but the doctor does not stop there.
“We’ll have to make a restaurant together, like that, I could see all your tattoos,” he says to her while trying to put his hand on her tattooed arm.
“It stays between us, doesn’t tell anyone”
A gesture that completely destabilizes the caregiver who subsequently finds herself in a daze, contenting herself with nodding her head at the various comments made by the doctor whose content she no longer remembers, she confided in her deposition.
As she leaves the patrician’s office, the latter tells her “it stays between us, doesn’t tell anyone”.
It is in tears that she confides in her colleagues in the wake. In turn, some admit to him having also been victims of similar facts from the same doctor. The latter would have looked for him throughout the afternoon in the hospital, the nurse hiding in the rooms to avoid him.
Conservatory measures
In the end, four women filed a complaint against the practitioner. Contacted, the hospital management indicated that a “thorough internal administrative investigation was carried out as soon as the facts were reported to us”.
While awaiting the conclusions of the judicial inquiry, “precautionary measures have been taken to protect the complainants”, while respecting the presumption of innocence of the accused doctor.
