more than 27,200 people in hospital and more than 3,100 intensive care patients in France

Pressure has been mounting on the executive in recent days to set new health restrictions against the Covid-19 epidemic. This Friday, more than 3,100 patients were still hospitalized in critical care in France because of the virus.

Epidemiological indicators have been particularly scrutinized in recent days, as we reflect at the top of the State on the next measures to be taken to counter the spread of the virus, and that a possible containment is mentioned. Emmanuel Macron met this Friday evening a health defense council at the Elysee Palace to discuss consolidated data on the impact of the curfew or the latest studies on new variants.

And the daily figures are not to reassure. The latest report communicated this Friday evening by Public Health France reports 356 deaths recorded in hospital in France during the past 24 hours.

More than 3,100 intensive care patients

According to the public health agency, 27,270 people are hospitalized in France this Friday due to the coronavirus. 1,823 new admissions were recorded in 24 hours. 3,120 patients are also in intensive care, having developed a severe form of Covid-19, which represents 271 new admissions in 24 hours.

After two days of consultation with political parties, associations of elected officials and unions, Emmanuel Macron could announce these new measures this weekend or Monday, which will then be the subject of a debate and a symbolic vote in Parliament. The only certainty is that the executive will tighten the screws after having noted that the curfew at 6 p.m., extended to the whole territory thirteen days ago, was not sufficiently effective.
