Pakistan beat South Africa by seven wickets – Veekshanam

Karachi: Pakistan won the first cricket Test against South Africa by seven wickets. Pakistan needed 88 runs to win the second innings to win by three wickets. This gave the hosts a 1-0 lead in the two – Test series.

Fawad Alam, who scored a century for Pakistan, was named the man of the match. South Africa won the toss and elected to bat, losing by 220 runs in the first innings. Dean Elgar was the only batsman to score 58 runs. In reply, Pakistan scored 378 runs. Fawad scored 109 runs.

South Africa were bowled out for 245 in the second innings, leaving Pakistan with a target of 88. Aidan Macrae and Van der Dusson scored half-centuries for South Africa in the second innings. Yasir Shah and Nauman Ali, who took seven wickets in two innings, smashed South Africa.
