Dr. Mohamed Awad Taj El-Din, Adviser to the President of the Republic for Health Affairs, said that since 10 days ago, Egypt has witnessed a gradual decrease in the number of Coronavirus infections, explaining that Egyptian doctors have had experience in dealing with the first wave that resulted in experience.
He added during a telephone interview with the “Akher Al-Nahar” program broadcast on Al-Nahar channel, presented by the journalist Tamer Amin, that the state has cases of Corona and is treated at home.
He explained that he hopes during the next period that there will be a greater decrease in cases of corona infection, stressing that the country is implementing strong measures to limit the spread of Corona.
He revealed that the reason for the decrease in the number of people infected with the Coronavirus is the decisions taken by the state, during the mid-year vacation, and the presence of most students and families at home.
He warned citizens not to ignore adherence to the precautionary measures, stressing, “Corona is still present, and everyone must adhere to the muzzle, spacing and washing the hand constantly.”
The advisor to the President of the Republic for Health Affairs commented on what was published in China that the oral swab is inaccurate, and that the accurate swab is through the anus, and he said that infection with the Corona virus is one of the infections of the respiratory system, and that the medical swab through the nose and mouth is Currently approved for corona virus detection.
He stressed that what China is talking about with an anal swab has not yet been approved.
He pointed out that the results of oral and nasal swabs are still reliable worldwide, and that the accuracy of medical swabs is at a minimum of 63%.
He pointed out that Egypt has recently witnessed a decrease in the number of infections in Corona, and this is auspicious, explaining that the country is playing an important role to limit the spread of Corona.
He explained that Egypt passed the stage of the high rate of infection with the Coronavirus in the second wave.
