Kindergartens – Freiburg im Breisgau – Health Department: Corona mutation found in 18 people affected – Education

Freiburg (dpa / lsw) – According to the district office of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald, a mutated variant of the corona virus has been detected in 18 children and educators from the Freiburg day care center Immergrün. In addition, there are nine close contact persons, said health department manager Oliver Kappert on Thursday in Friday.

The background is therefore that laboratories have been roughly investigating positive corona samples for a certain virus mutation on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Health for a few days. This occurs in the variants from Great Britain, South Africa and Brazil. It is still unclear which type the people affected from the day care center are suffering from.

Eleven children and 14 educators from the daycare center are now considered Corona cases. That is one more child than according to information on Wednesday.
