Yellow alert due to storm and rain for Junín and a wide area

After the intense heat wave that hit Junín, the region and the central area of ​​the country, the rains arrived this Thursday. The first record of rain that fell during the early hours of Thursday until 9 in the morning was 0.5 millimeters.

The National Meteorological Service (SMN) issued an alert for storms and rain this Thursday night for Arrecifes – Capitán Sarmiento – Carmen de Areco – Chacabuco – Colón – General Arenales – General Pinto – Junín – Leandro N. Alem – Lincoln – Pergamino – Rojas – Jump.

The area will be affected by rains and storms of varying intensity, some strong that may be accompanied by intense gusts, hail falls and abundant waterfalls in short periods. Accumulated precipitation values ​​between 30 and 50 mm are expected, which can be exceeded in a timely manner.

According to the SMN scale, the rain alert is yellow: the area will be affected by heavy rains. Accumulated precipitation values ​​between 20 and 40 mm in 12 hours are estimated. Locally they can be overcome.

Given this, the following recommendations are made:

1- Avoid outdoor activities.

2- Do not take out the garbage. Remove objects that prevent water from draining.

3- Stay away from coastal and riparian areas.

4- Stay informed by the authorities. Always have an emergency backpack with a flashlight, radio, documents and a phone ready.
