Hemisphere Crea is a documentary series about how the Crea program of the District Institute of the Arts – Idartes has managed to reduce the training needs of citizens thanks to training strategies in the field of the arts. It is also a commitment to show citizens how the program promotes the free exercise of cultural rights and strengthens the developments of public policies.
In magazine format, the first season will have six chapters in which boys, girls, youth and adults will tell through their own voices how theater, literature, audiovisual, plastic arts, electronic arts, dance and music. music has positively impacted their lives.
For José Arroyo, leader of the Crea program, “Hemisphere Crea is a wonderful opportunity in which two public entities of the District, Crea – Idartes and Canal Capital, come together in the development of public policies to share with citizens the power of art and creativity, make cultural rights tangible exercised by the people who participate in the Crea program, who appropriate artistic languages as a way of individual and collective construction. It is also an occasion for more people of all ages to be part of the Crea program, to transform imaginary, build new realities and celebrate life ”.
For her part, for Ana María Ruiz, general manager of Capital Sistema de Comunicación Pública, “Hemisferio Crea is a project that embodies the commitment of our system to guarantee the cultural rights of citizens. The stories of transformation of the lives of children, youth and adults, thanks to the cultural and artistic training provided by the Crea program they are really inspiring. “
Each chapter of Hemisferio Crea presents three life stories recorded from different locations in Bogotá, in which the artistic techniques, ages, projects and approaches are of diverse nature but with a particular theme that unites them: the certainty that the art is indispensable for life.
For example, the viewer will be able to find the story of Madeleine Yate, a 12-year-old girl who, thanks to dance, has been able to improve the aftermath of a paralysis caused by a stroke. They will also be able to see the story of José Rodríguez, a heavy machinery auto mechanic who, driven by his son, in his spare time, lets the hip-hop that is in his blood flow.
The first season of Hemisferio Crea will be broadcast starting next Sunday, January 31 at 10:30 in the morning on Canal Capital and will have repeats on Saturdays at the same time.
About the Crea Program
He Crea program, of the District Institute of the Arts – Idartes, generates processes of social transformation through training programs in the arts and the strengthening and development of artistic capacities, offering better life opportunities for all citizens.
It currently has Training Centers in several locations in Bogotá and in the face of the health emergency against COVID-19, it is also developing training processes in Crea en casa, a virtual classroom created to give continuity to the activities of the program, and which was enabled so that all citizens can access these spaces from home. Through this platform, training artists accompany artistic experiences and the construction and strengthening of life projects around art.
