After WhatsApp triggered privacy issues earlier, many people have switched to other instant messaging software, which has greatly increased the number of Signal and Telegram users. Recently, there is news that Telegram is testing a new feature that can connect WhatsApp and other instant messaging software. The chat history of the communication software is imported, so don’t worry about not being able to check the previous chat history after the transfer!
Telegram added the chat history import function in the latest version 7.4 of the iOS version, but it was removed soon. The official said the function is still under testing, so the function is temporarily removed. However, the foreign media 9to5mac was the first to try this feature. They pointed out that users can import chat records of WhatsApp, Line, KakaoTalk and other applications to Telegram, and the operation process is quite simple. Take WhatsApp as an example. As long as you press the name of the other party or group in the conversation, and choose to export the conversation in the chat information, the chat history can be made into a compressed file, and then the chat history can be imported through the new Telegram function. After importing, Telegram will check whether the user will share the chat history with the other party, and the chat history will be marked as the imported history.
After the new feature is launched, I believe it can attract more people to switch to Telegram, and there is no need to worry about losing chat records, but it is troublesome to export and import chat records one by one. I hope there will be a more convenient method when it is officially launched.
