WWE NXT results for January 27, 2021

This new episode of WWE NXT opens this Wednesday, January 27, 2021 live from the CWC at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Drake Maverick and Killian Dain are in the ring for the first quarterfinal of the Men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. They’ll be dealing with MSK in a moment.

MSK assign a Blockbuster on Maverick on behalf of three and land their ticket to the tournament semi-final.

An interview with Curt Stallion, conducted by McKenzie Mitchell, airs. He talks about Legado del Fantasma and his match against NXT Cruiserweight Champion Santos Escobar that will take place tonight.

Gibson and Drake assigned their double team finisher, the Ticket to Mayhem, to Ruff to rivet his shoulders and rush into the semi-finals. They will face the winners of the match between Undisputed Era and Tommaso Ciampa / Timothy Thatcher which takes place next week.

After the encounter, NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory attack Kushida and Ruff. Without warning, Dexter Lumis appears in ringside, just behind Theory. The latter panics and decides to flee with Gargano.

Backstage, Curt Stallion is found on the ground by officials, including William Regal. Stallion says Legado del Fantasma is in charge and the General Manager of NXT decides to go find them. A few minutes later, Regal arrives furious in the locker room of Legado del Fantasma, but they play the innocent. Regal warns them and assures that Stallion will have his championship match next week against Santos Escorbar. If anything happens to him by then, there will be consequences for all three of the party.

Toni Storm enters the ring and performs a promo for the NXT Women’s Champion. She talks about their past and says she wants to become NXT Women’s Champion and will do anything to achieve it. She is interrupted by the entry of Io Shirai, who fearlessly rushes into the ring to confront Storm.

To the latter, Shirai affirms that she is not afraid of her and that she will face her wherever she wants. The two women fight until Mercedes Martinez arrives, who brings Shirai to the ground. The three Superstars trade blows for several minutes and it is Toni Storm who manages to remain the last woman standing. She lifts the NXT Women’s Championship to wrap up the segment.

Find Balor & Kyle O’Reilly beat Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch

O’Reilly assigns a heel hook to Danny Burch to get him hit and defeat the NXT Tag Team Champions in this non-title match. After the encounter, Burch and Lorcan attack O’Reilly & Finn Balor, and Pete Dunne joins the champions in the ring.

Dunne grabs the NXT Champion’s fingers to break them but the rest of Undisputed Era rushes towards the ring. Dunne still crushes Balor’s fingers and flees the ring with Burch and Lorcan. Undisputed Era and Balor stay in the center of the ring, lined up with each other and fixated on their rivals on the stage to wrap up this episode of WWE NXT.
