The Sentencing Court made up of Mirna Carolina Ocampos, Carmen Silva Bóveda and Ana Aguirre, unanimously decided to sentence the defendant to 13 years in prison, despite the fact that the representative of the Public Ministry, prosecutor Celso René Morales, in his final statement requested only 8 years in jail.
Aranda Santacruz was detained during a procedure carried out on November 10, 2016 by special agents of the Senad, headed by then-prosecutor Hugo Volpe Mazó. On the occasion, the interveners found two AK-47 rifles, an M-4 rifle, a 38-caliber rifle and 7 12-caliber shotguns and a significant quantity of ammunition of different calibers.
They also found 700 grams of cocaine, doses of marijuana and about 20 cell phones. The operation took place on Juan de Ayolas street almost Elisa Linch in the San Gerardo neighborhood of Pedro Juan Caballero.
