He’s a big favorite – but he’s not yet elected President of the FC Barcelona. But as such it appears Joan Laporta already now – and criticized Paris St. Germain heavily for their courtship for Lionel Messi.
It is well known that the Parisians have been planning the reunification of the two superstars (and buddies!) Neymar and Lionel Messi for a long time. Joan Laporta doesn’t like that at all. Opposite the Spanish state broadcaster TVE said the lawyer and regional politician: “I read about the debts of PSG. We will talk about how you want to make these investments.” (via as.com)
The ironic tone of these words was followed by a clear announcement to the organizers of the Prinzenpark: “In any case, I would ask you not to try to destabilize FC Barcelona. Just as we treat them with respect. We haven’t done anything to them, that now, in the middle of the season, they publicly announce that they want to sign Messi. I don’t think that’s good. ”
Words that underline Laporta’s claim to leadership. Compared to his first term of office (2003 to 2010), he sees himself improved in some ways: “I have gained even more experience, I am even better prepared, with more calm and serenity in analyzing things and with more determination.”
Those responsible at PSG are now feeling the effects. If everything goes as expected, Laporta will officially represent the interests of the Azulgrana from March 7th (new date for the elections) – and try to convince Messi to stay in Can Barça after all.
