Amazon will donate more than 2 million dollars to support production houses in Mexico – Noticias en la Mira with Lourdes Mendoza

Amazon announced this Tuesday that it will allocate more than 2.65 million dollars to support the recovery of television, film and theater production companies in Mexico and other Latin American countries to alleviate the economic crisis derived from covid-19.

The US e-commerce and streaming giant, which presented its new original series, reported that it works “closely with organizations that are committed to supporting the community and groups of audiovisual professionals” to channel support.

The donations will be completed in the first half of this year, “and will go to those countries where the company is developing local and original content,” said Jennifer Salke, director of Amazon Studios.

The directive explained that another of the actions taken by the company since 2020, when the pandemic began, was to have agreements with the studios to bring originally planned film releases to television.

“Since the covid-19 pandemic we have been able to launch original global content and local productions, the situation is changing and there will be obstacles. We know that Prime Video content will continue to be very strong, ”said Salke.

Among the titles announced for this year, the production of two more seasons of “LOL: Last one laughing”, starring the Mexican actor Eugenio Derbez, as well as a second season of “Pan y circo”, by Diego Luna, stands out.

At your service, Amazon Prime Video will add “Maradona: Sueño Bendito”, about the life of the late Argentine soccer star, and the first sports documentary series dedicated to the Mexican team Chivas de Guadalajara.
