Two negative swabs gave the green light to hospitalization on 14 December; hospitalization continued until 21 December when a further swab detected the presence of the virus. “He was being treated for pneumonia, he felt pain in his shoulder so the cardiologist advised us to go to the Sirai emergency room to get a CT scan”. The family members, Angelo Porcedda and Brunella Ollargiu, respectively brother and cousin of Luciana Porcedda, tell the storyodyssey lived. “The CT scan averted what the cardiologist feared, that is a pulmonary embolism – explains Brunella Ollargiu, 60 – but there were some symptoms for which the doctors wanted to investigate: after two negative swabs she was taken to the medical department” . As usual, the verification allows the recovery: it will be the last time that family members will see Luciana Porcedda. “We spoke sporadically on the phone” explains the cousin, who continues: “on 21 December she told us that they had another swab, that everyone had been screened and that she was tested positive“. A doctor then clarifies to the relatives that the patient did not have symptoms from Covid,” so we calmed down a little – adds Angelo Porcedda, 70 – even though we knew he was a subject at risk. “The hospitalization continues but on the 31st December a tac highlights gods damage to a lung, caused by the Covid. “Luciana stopped answering us; on January 2nd, they called us to tell us she was dead”. “We want answers – the family members continue – it is not enough for us to know that there has been a” wave of covid “, as a doctor justified himself: we want to know what happened, and why it happened in a hospital”.
