jpnn.com, WASHINGTON – President of the United States Joe Biden will cancel a number of policies during the time of Donald Trump regarding the Israeli conflict and Palestine.
Biden believes a two-state solution is the only way to create peace between Israel and the Palestinians.
Biden believes “a two-state solution is still the only way to move forward,” said White House spokesman Jen Psaki during a press conference on Tuesday (26/1).
Joe Biden’s administration also expressed the same attitude before members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in Washington, Tuesday (26/1).
Acting US Special Envoy to the United Nations, Richard Mills, said the Biden administration would cancel a number of policies during Donald Trump’s term regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Mills said the US would encourage Israel and Palestine “not to take unilateral steps that could complicate a peaceful two-state solution, including forcibly annexing certain areas, building residential areas, dismantling residential areas, instigating and providing assistance for acts of terrorism to certain people”.
The Palestinians want their country’s territory to include the West Bank and Gaza Strip, while its capital is in east Jerusalem.
However, the entire territory was forcibly taken by Israel in 1967.
