GUASTALLA. Ribbon cutting – in a sober way due to panemia – at the Primo Maggio gym, next to the club of the same name, in via Castagnoli, where the flooring of the sports facility has been completely redone, for an amount of 45,183 euros.
The flooring of the gym, about 670 square meters, was made with a specific multisport floor in catalyzed sports rubber from the Italian company Casali Sport, the “pavisint sl 75”, and was built on site by the specialized company Bisport of Modena.
The mayor of Guastalla, Camilla Verona, was present at the inauguration; the councilor for sport Luca Fornasari; the deputy mayor Matteo Artoni; the councilor for public works Chiara Lanzoni, as well as the president of the Saturno sports union, Cesare Alessandri, and two technicians from the Bisport company, who carried out the work in the Guastallese gym.
«The intervention also involved the elimination of a no longer adequate grandstand – explains the mayor Camilla Verona – and therefore the whole area is now dedicated to sports. The gym hosts artistic gymnastics (180 between girls and boys) of the sports club Us Saturno and Sporting Karate Guastalla Shito Ryu (about 30 boys and girls) ».
«The refurbishment of the gym floor has completed the redevelopment works already begun with the new roof – continues the mayor of Guastalla -. Today the sport is put to the test and is stopped due to the health emergency. However, they considered it appropriate to value a suspended time with this important maintenance. This will allow us to resume sporting activities in the best possible way and with a renewed impetus, fundamental opportunities for the growth of our children ».
In the meantime, construction work on the sports hall continues. Barring new stops caused by the Coronavirus emergency, the sports hall in piazzale Saturno, with 490 seats, could be finished in the coming months.
The Municipality of Guastalla has invested 3 million 250,000 euros in the sports hall. The stands are already there; the roof was built, on which a photovoltaic system will be installed. In recent weeks, the realization of the lateral relatives has begun. The areas outside the building were also designed, in particular the 1,750 square meter open space right in front of the main and pedestrian entrance, which will become a square, a place to stop, shaded by trees and equipped with street furniture.
