Opening Thursday January 28, 2021

This gallery which plans toopen its doors Thursday January 28, 2021 at 2 rue de Bréa (near Cours Cambronne) is a family project, initiated by Izabeau Jousse (painter) and Léopold Cottineau.

The idea for this gallery was notably born from the discovery of a Breton mansion in which the work of an artist’s lifetime was preserved almost intact. A real visual and human shock for Izabeau and Léopold, it made them want to put these shadow artists in the spotlight.

Menachem Gueffen exhibited from January 28 to March 30

The first exhibition of La Galerie des Oubliés will be dedicated to Israeli painter Menachem Gueffen, and more precisely to a series of 21 tables that he produced between 1960 and 1970. The central element of these paintings is the female figure. This series was last exhibited in London in 1974.
