It officially started today on 2021 of the Ferrari with the first tests a Fiorano, the circuit owned by the house of Maranello. However, the owners did not take to the track, Charles Leclerc e Carlos Sainz, who will be behind the wheel of the Rossa respectively Tuesday and Wednesday (and for the Spaniard it will be an absolute debut), but three young people from Ferrari Driver Academy, who have tried their hand at the SF71H, the car of the world championship 2018.
He opened the dance Giuliano Alesi, yet another son of art, who drove in the morning when the track was still slippery. It was certainly a great emotion for both him and dad Jean Alesi, who played five world championships with Ferrari from 1991 to 1995 and who was one of the drivers most loved by the Cavallino fans. Jean left this message in a video: “Good morning everyone and always thank you for the support. I thank Ferrari for giving my son Giuliano the opportunity to drive his car, the most important day in any driver’s life. Thanks to everyone and go Ferrari! ”.
Giuliano, 21, completed just over a dozen laps, as did the New Zealander Marcus Armstrong, the first New Zealander in a Ferrari since Chris Amon, who competed in red from 1967 to 1969. But the real highlight of the day was when the Russian took to the track Robert Shwartzman, a great talent who had already driven the same car last September 30th again in Fiorano together with Callum Ilott and to another son of art, Mick Schumacher, about to debut in the Formula 1 world championship with Haas.
Shwartzman, too class 1999 as Alesi jr. and one year older than Armstrong, he completed fifty laps and was unquestionably the fastest of the trio on the track. As best time he would have pulled off a considerable 57”7, pulverizing his personal best of 58”31 obtained in September. Tomorrow, as mentioned, it will be Leclerc’s turn.
