(Madrid) 25 Jan 2021. Luis Suarez led Atletico Madrid to another new victory over Valencia last night.
Valencia opened the scoring in the 11th minute, but Joao Felix equalized in the 23rd minute, before Luis Suarez doubled the lead and Angel Correa made it 3-1.
According to Opta, Luis Suarez has scored 12 goals in his first 15 league games against Atletico Madrid, the best start to his career. Cristiano Ronaldo did the same for Real Madrid in 2010, scoring 13 goals.
Luis Suarez is still capable of surpassing that record, with 18 games left in La Liga this season, and the Uruguayan striker is putting in an impressive performance, surpassing the record set by Barcelona.
Suarez leads the way in the Spanish league table, level with Seville striker Youssef En-Nesyri with 12 goals apiece, while Lionel Messi is second with 11 goals, but missed the game against Elche due to suspension.
