At least 15 victims… Chanel Korea police investigation of alleged sexual harassment

– It was confirmed on the 25th that the police are looking into the suspicion of sexual harassment of executives in Chanel Korea, a domestic subsidiary of Chanel, a luxury brand that has been continuing since last year.

According to the police and other assessing agencies that day, the Seoul West District Prosecutors’ Office recently filed a complaint against Chanel Korea for harassment, forced harassment, etc., and transferred the case to the Seodaemun Police Station in Seoul. The police plan to call A, a man in his 40s, who has been accused of being a perpetrator, and investigate.

According to the Chanel Korea branch of the KCTU Department Store Duty Free Sales and Service Union, which filed a complaint with the Western District Prosecutor’s Office, Mr. A is accused of sexually assaulting at least 15 victims since 2008. The victims claim that Mr. A shook hands and touched a part of his body, such as not letting go of his hand or wrapping his shoulder. In addition, it is reported that Mr. A has performed several times sexual shame, such as pointing out how a female employee is dressed or making sexual jokes.

After such a suspicion regarding Mr. A came out, in December last year, Chanel Korea held a personnel committee to deal with Mr. A’s personal affairs. Although A’s level of discipline was not disclosed, it is known that he is currently in office.
