With the start of the week, stricter corona rules apply in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. This includes, for example, a stricter mask requirement and a new infection limit value for further measures.
Certain protective masks must now be worn in local transport and in shops in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The stricter rules are part of the new Corona state ordinance, which is in force from today. Medical masks, such as surgical masks or FFP2 masks, are now mandatory in buses and trains and when shopping. According to the State Chancellery, anyone wearing a fabric mask should not have to pay a fine this week. The federal and state governments agreed on a partially tightened lockdown last week. These measures should initially apply until February 14th.

Childcare is also limited further in some cases
From the seven-day incidence value of 150, care at daycare centers and schools is also restricted: In crèches, kindergartens and for school classes 1 to 6 there is then only emergency care. For the graduating classes, face-to-face lessons should be possible nationwide. The tightening already applies to the Ludwigslust-Parchim district, as the incidence value there has not yet fallen below the value of 150 for a sufficiently long period of time. After two transition days, they will also come into force in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district on Wednesday. They are already in force in the Mecklenburg Lake District. In the other districts as well as in Schwerin and Rostock, daycare centers and schools up to grade 6 remain open to all children. However, parents are urgently asked everywhere to look after their children at home if possible.
