Telegram is an alternative to Whatsapp. Ursula Sury, data protection expert at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences, arranges the services – and advises schools in particular to switch to SMS or blogs.

From school information to family chat: the Whatsapp news program is still installed on many smartphones – including in the canton of Lucerne. And that, although Whatsapp has been owned by Facebook since 2014 – and is repeatedly criticized for its handling of personal data. There are alternatives such as the Swiss provider Threema or the Telegram developed in Russia.
