Take off’bubble debate’ after turning pro
November 2009. 36 top-level American women’s professional golf (LPGA) tours traveled to Guadalajara, Mexico. It was to participate in the Lorena Ochoa Invitational. Hosted by Mexican star Lorena Ochoa, the competition began in 2008, and only 36 people were eligible to participate. At the time, prominent stars such as Pak Se-ri, Paula Creamer, Morgan Pressell, and Christy Kerr (above the United States) were included in the list.
After passing LPGA Qualifying (Q) School, Michelle Wido, a Korean-American who was given a full seed from 2009, received an invitation. Michelle Wie has been spotlighted since childhood, and previously played impressively by participating in the Solheim Cup against the US vs. Europe in Illinois in August as a captain.
Michelle Wie hit 10 under par through the 3rd round and joined Kerr in the final day of the championship group. In the immediate front, there were Creamer and Shin Ji-ae, who was a rookie, and it was the first shot. Creamer, Michelle Wie, and Kerr who caught Eagle were co-leaders up to hole 12. For Michelle Yue, it was her first chance to win the LPGA full-seed first year.

Michelle Wie couldn’t connect with the championship after winning the 2002 amateur competition when she was 13 years old. In the meantime, it has been in second place five times. Michelle Wie passed several cuts in LPGA Tour competitions, and was invited to US Professional Golf (PGA) tours such as the Sony Open, and gained explosive popularity. In the early 2000s,’Golf Emperor’ Tiger Woods (USA) was in full swing, and Michelle Wie was compared to’Woman Woods’.
Michelle Wie, at the age of 16, turned pro in 2005 and signed an advertisement for a total of $10 million each from Nike and Sony for a total of $5 million, and was called’a girl of $10 million. But when Michelle Wie didn’t win, there was also a bubble debate.
To become a top star, even fellow players such as Anika Sorenstam (Sweden) had no real results. So seven years have passed.
Michelle Wie took the lead by one stroke ahead of Kerr and Creamer with two holes left. He aimed for 2 on the last hole 18 (par 5), but knocked the ball into the bunker. Michelle Wie put her third shot in the hole 40cm under pressure, and then grabbed the tap-in birdie and raised her arms. It was a second hit and was his first LPGA Tour victory. It was an achievement after the age of 13. Michelle Wie joined’Winner Circle’, and she wished to be baptized with a beer to celebrate the championship surrounded by colleagues.
