Saint-Martin-d’Hères. Digital Fortnight, for young and old alike

This year, given the health constraints imposed by the government, the municipal media libraries of Saint-Martin-d’Hères are organizing the traditional “Digital Fortnight”, which opens this Tuesday, January 26, online. There was no question for Justine Dumas and Magali Marchetto, the director of cinema and video games collections, not to mark this event eagerly awaited each year by library members.

A program around audio

This year, Covid obliges, the program is strongly audio oriented. It therefore revolves around very diverse themes, and will be offered online on the biblio.sitpi.fr platform, no doubt until the end of February.

Among the videos online will be a musical cafe, with a history of electronic music and samples, more for adults and teenagers. For the little ones from 3 years old, a program of “Little stories and little rhymes”, and for the more curious, the discovery of applications and podcast content.

You will also find a choice of music on the platform of an independent label Dimusic and a selection of podcasts to discover without delay. The Digital Fortnight will finally offer to download all kinds of videos, music, podcasts, for the pleasure of discovery.

An eclectic and exciting program, for all ears.

Landmarks

Arrival of the Crolles media library in 2017, Justine Dumas is responsible for the digital division. She takes care of all the dimensions of digital, the computer park, internet access, and in agreement with her multimedia librarian colleagues, the collections of CDs, DVDs, videos and digital books. Products offered all year round to members aged 3 to 99.

The digital pole is also in charge of individual training for beginners, or collective, in order to fight against the digital divide, and offers activities inside and outside the walls (colleges, high schools, extracurricular).

The latest novelty is the small Lunii box, which allows children to listen to audio albums, to make their own adventures, to leave room for their imagination, choosing the elements that will make up their story: a hero, a companion, a place and an object. The success is such that the media library has decided to acquire three new ones. (www.lunii.fr)
